Cycle Pumps

Cyclist will generally have two cycle pumps. One is a large track(floor) pump, kept at home, to keep the tyres upto the correct pressure and generally checked on a weekly basis. These pumps are easy to use and have a pressure gauge to allow you to easily get the tyres to the correct pressure.

The other is a small portable pump to get you out of those sticky situations where you get a puncture 10 miles from home in the middle of nowhere. These come in the form of a general pump which can be fixed to the top of frame, however could easily be taken by anyone when the bike is locked up. A small lighter mini pump that can fit practically everywhere and is very portable. Finally a Co2 powered pump that is a nice and quick way to pump up your tyre in an emergency, however it does have a limited Co2 supply.

When you do buy your pump for the emergency situations do not forget a puncture repair kit. Alternatively just take a spare inner tube with you, this will help you get on your way much quicker than having to repair an inner tube which can be done later in the comfort of your own home.
